Who We Are?

WEEAT “WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND ADVISORY TRUST”, is a Rwandan organization that aims to promote women’s empowerment through research, capacity building, entrepreneurship, savings, long term investment, and advisory services.

Our Vision

Women in Rwanda are 52% of total population, they therefore need economic empowerment to have a better future. However, much GoR have found opportunities for women, they remain behind mainly in rural areas and urban among the new jobless young grandaunts. Hence few women and men burdened by such categories of women sat down and formulated WEEAT specifically to support them.

Our target group is: Adolescent girls, young graduates and women in all spheres of the economy, (widows, prostitutes, business women, women entrepreneurs, women in decision making, women in refugee camps, Old widows and desperate women (Incike).

Our activities

1) Identification of target group in partnership with local authorities from Districts of Rwanda. They will be selected from women, young girls, men, widows, elderly women, professional service providers and men if needed, etc.

2) Building capacity of women and girls through trainings, financial literacy on saving and credit, entrepreneurship, planning, budgeting and monitoring, etc.

3) Promoting a saving culture through initiation of saving groups and investment in micro small and medium enterprises.

4) Advising, coaching, mentoring women and girls by using available skills within WEEAT members and networks for socio-economic transformation.
